The media
for whatever reason did not really cover the amazing celebration march
that started after all the peaceful protesters who chose to be arrested
by crossing the police line were loaded onto the buses. The parade
wound its way through the city streets, its route stopped traffic,
and on both sides of the street, people stood at their office windows
sometimes cheering us on, sometimes just watching.
The power
of the march, with its drummers and chants that filled whose sound
filled the streets was unbelievable.
Marc
Fischer of the Washington Post wrote a poorly
informed article about his impressions of the protest. The day
before, in a television interview, he admitted to having been away
for the weekend, and following the protest through the television
and papers.
