The north exit of the Dupont Circle Metro station has a great escalator. As you ride up it on a sunny day, the light from the top slowly creeps towards you until you're almost blinded by the brightness and convinced that the escalator is going to drop you off somewhere in the sky. But tonight I decided to look down. |
